Coffee snob? Nah I dunno. I picked up a used Gaggia espresso maker for a decent price on eBay. It was in working order, kinda. It was really dirty and covered in buildup of coffee, lime, calcium, et cetera. It made about 4 shots before it stopped working.

So, I have become very proficient at disassembling the machine. I cleaned its innards. It still didn’t work. I went a level deeper and it started working but just barely.

Today, the decalcifier products I ordered arrived. That, combined with my earlier efforts, has addressed the problem fully.

Now I have a very decent espresso maker. I’m looking forward to learning and perfecting all the variables that go into those little shots. Andrea is looking forward to me talking about anything else.
